New31DC: Day 9 - Saran Wrap

Hi there!! Today marks the beginning of the actual art themed days of the challenge... I know I've been overachieving by having so much art on days when it wasn't necessary, but I am doing my best to be committed to more nail art on the blog.  (I will tell you that this will be continuing after the 31DC is over, and leave you with that cryptic little tidbit!)

Today's theme is Saran Wrap.  I have so much trouble with this technique for whatever reason.  I think it is my color choices.  I actually did another version of saran wrap nails 2 weeks ago, but I decided to redo them last night because, well.... the other ones sucked!

In an effort to make these stand out a bit among a sea of other saran wrap manis, I have used a glitter base, which I haven't seen done yet.  (Maybe someone has done this, but I don't know about it!)  I used two coats of China Glaze I Herd That, and then used OPI Suzi Loves Cowboys for my second color.  I did the technique where you remove some of the second color with the plastic wrap... I know some other people add the color with the wrap.

In the end, I was quite happy with how these turned out.  They remind me of Tortoiseshell, which was completely unintentional but cool!
